As a multimedia artist, Jelena Dabic focuses much of her work on site-specific (music) theatre and performance, exploring whether unconventional spaces (i.e., spaces beyond theatres, concert halls, and opera houses) or diverse set designs can contribute to the enrichment and timeliness of the performance. A central concern of her productions is the extent to which the space influences the performance and the aesthetic experience of the audience. 

The space and the audience are considered equal actors, with an emphasis on the perception of the performance. Her recent works have begun to incorporate new VR technology, combining current and virtual spaces to create innovative and immersive experiences.
